Construction Update Nine and the Five

Good news to report: the masonite has left the building! Painting is going on today, and then we’ve arrived at final inspections and, of course, the punch list. I think that next Friday will be the last construction update so that you can see the chairs, and the paint. It was fun chronicling my stress, [...]

Under pressure

This is one of those days where “pre-writing” the blog entry feels a bit odd. By the time blogger posts this, I will hopefully still be asleep, having seen and enjoyed Coldplay. As I type, we haven’t left yet, my husband is at work, and my buddy is napping on the family room sofa. The [...]

Oh so cute

I love schoolhouse typefaces. And so when I found this (at 29 Olives, courtesy of Design is Mine, via Free Design, thanks to Decor8 – did you follow that web segue?) it was love at first sight. Want it.

Wants (but not “gets”) from August Elle

photos clipped from Elle magazine, August 2008
The day without a car passed by surprisingly easily. Morning rain and thunder cleared so I was even able to bike over to “my shop” for a chicken salad sandwich lunch. (I wish they had a website so that I could link you all to the deliciousness.)
The afternoon was [...]

Burdock

After reading this article in Sunday’s New York Times, I am eagerly anticipating this book. Sounds fascinating; looks gorgeous.

The theme appears to be berries

Hello! Happy berry-filled Monday! The photo above is of wild black raspberries that were in my csa box last week. I gave a good friend most of the box while I await full kitchen function, but I had to snag a few of these berries for a taste test, and I’m so glad that I [...]
