I have a confession: I am a paper saver. The piles of catalogs, tear sheets, etc. threaten to take over, and I routinely have to cull the collection. However, there are items I’m glad I held onto, like these vintage (1999-2000) Kate Spade catalogs I discovered while cleaning up over break. It was a treat to flip through them, and I wish some of these bags were still available. They’re completely what I envision when I think of Kate Spade.

I’ll post all my Kate Spade catalog photos to Flickr w/better quality.

that outfit is pure perfection. in high school or my first year of college, my grandmother gave me a kate spade purse. it was a gunmetal brown/gray color and i loved it so.

Flashback to my freshman year at Boston University where all the School of Communication girls wore black pants to class and carried those rectangular black Kate Spade purses.

I think every Kate Spade campaign has always looked perfect to me. I didn’t know she was making clothes again until I visited a KS shop in Corte Madera over Christmas. If it were at all practical for life with a toddler, I would now be the owner of a yellow silk shirtdress printed with tiny owls…but alas!

    Sigh. . .
I loved Kate Spade bags — the vintage ons, not the ones they’ve been making since she sold the company. I still have a Sam that I’ve put away for my daughter.
I don’t like the new bags at all.
Your post took me back to an extremely happy time in my life. Thank you.
