It’s hard to believe the calendar when we had another very summery weekend in these parts. Filled with errands, but the weather was summery. Yesterday, I picked up a couple of Blue Moon pumpkins (for a steal!), some Black Mission figs (I haven’t had figs in eons and they’re everywhere), and planted a boxwood to fill out around the patio – okay, that was my husband, not me. We even got in a family bike ride yesterday, taking a path I had not been on before, which was nice.I’m still trying to cut back on the baked goods (due to last week’s New York magazine article – and no, I still don’t have my copy). But on Friday, another new bakery tempted me. Scones! Muffins! Coffee! Heaven on Main Street is run by fashion model Taylor Foster and her photographer husband. The food at Heaven is vegetarian and organic, and the place looks oh so cute. (I think it’s open only on weekends.) And, it really won’t affect my diet. It’s in Bovina Center, New York. Read the NYTimes article, complete with color photos that will make you want to visit, here.
Two more things to tell you about for October 1: Design*Sponge moves to its new web home starting at 10am. Also, Maria of Port2Port is updating her web store (also at a new location) with her fall series of cards. Can’t wait to see it!
As for me, today I’m off for a haircut. Will I try something new? I’m thinking about it, but I’m prone to chickening out. Stay tuned …..
