Looking like October

foggy morning on lasalle street | simple pretty

It’s quite foggy this morning. Naturally, I went outside in my “loungewear” (pajamas) to try to capture it. This was the best of five attempts. I was hoping to photograph a cute bunny sitting in our front yard, but he had other ideas. Oh well. Mornings like this scream fall to me. Cool, damp, quiet ……As for yesterday, the haircut isn’t that much different than before. Surprise, surprise. I talk a good game. Even brought in photos to describe my radical change. I’ll take a photo in a couple of days and share it here, after I’ve styled it myself and all. My hair always looks different when I’m in charge of it.And now, for the awkward segue. I am a graphic design nut. By which I mean, although I have no background in art (accounting major? what was up with that??), I think about it a lot. I look forward to HOW and Print magazines’ design annuals: it’s kind of like collecting a bunch of cool business cards (yep, I do that too) all at once. Plus packaging, invitations, you name it, and I can store it on the shelf! Confession: I used to save shopping bags as well. Funny how now I will go to absurd lengths to not get a shopping bag! Anyway, back to my graphic design obsession, and today’s entry into my personal, running design annual. Eat is a breakfast/sandwich shop which started in London over ten years ago. I have never been, so I cannot in any way vouch for the food, but the website and packaging are gorgeous, and their menu looks yummy. My kind of food. My kind of design. Click through their site and see what you think.

and by the way, credit for Eat’s design goes to Pentagram – they discuss the redesign at their blog.
