Given my fascination with all things MUJI, this book went straight to my wishlist. I have to see inside! (Available 10/26)
In addition, on November 4, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum will be hosting a book signing and panel discussion with authors Jasper Morrison, Naoto Fukusawa, and Kenya Hara (MUJI’s art director). If I lived in New York, I would be figuring out/finagling a way to attend. Would be interesting to hear some stories behind the designs.
UPDATE: The event on November 4 is not taking place; there is an event scheduled at the Japan Society in New York on November 3. Check the Rizzoli website (the book’s publisher) for the latest and most correct information regarding the MUJI book release and related events.

have you had a chance to read kenya hara’s designing design? such an interesting segue into the way he re-envisioned the identity of muji, & the book itself is quite beautiful…
Holy Mackerel. Instantly added to my wishlist. INSTANT. Thanks for the post! I had no idea.
