After taking a year off, I’m so excited to be heading back to NYC for this year’s Stationery Show. Walking the aisles of Javits, seeing friends, and yes, a bit of NYC #exploring are all on the docket. I have lists aplenty underway (NSS booth numbers, restaurant options, and of course, my Google Map* of places to go, which includes this nifty new shop devoted to pencils).
A few favorites I’ll be looking for while in town:
- Brock coat and Calvin Klein Collection sweater at The Line The first place I went when we hit NYC for #collegetours last month was The Apartment By The Line, where I tried on and instantly fell for this gorgeous coat from Brock. It’s an investment, so I held off, but I can’t stop thinking about it. (London is definitely a coat town.) And then it was featured in the look above, with a gorgeously simple Calvin Klein Collection sweater. Off-the-charts temptation levels at the moment.
- Brooks Brothers White Button-down Shirt Not really an earth-shattering choice, but there’s something so classic about a white shirt with jeans. Brooks Brothers fitted dress shirt features wide-enough-to-move shoulders without looking sloppy everywhere else. (And bonus points for being machine washable.) Since Brooks Brothers, like many US retailers, adheres to the “we’ll just change the currency sign” method of pricing in the UK, it will definitely pay off to pick one up while I’m in the States.
- Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick This isn’t on my shopping list per se, as I already own it, but I’m such a fan of Chanel lipsticks. A flattering range of colors (something for everyone) with great formulas and gorgeous packaging. I’ve been wearing their newly launched ultra-hydrating lip colour in ‘430/Marie’ non-stop since I picked it up on a whim on one of my March trips to Paris. It’s the perfect Your Lips But Better shade, and it might require a second tube so it’s always handy.
- Olaplex As someone who spends more time than she’d like to admit at the colorist, I’m quite intrigued by Olaplex. The line was developed around a bond multiplier that promises to make your hair stronger and less prone to breakage if you use it while coloring your hair. Olaplex is a three-step process: the salon treatment is broken into two steps (using products No. 1 and No. 2), but there is a take-home component, No. 3, that you use once a week to further strengthen your hair. Want it. Need it. Have to try it.
- Muji A4 PP Card Folder I don’t know why they don’t sell this product at the London Muji shops, but they don’t. (As an American, UK retailing can seem perplexing and exasperating.) I think this PP card folder will be brilliant for organizing and displaying favorite business cards from the weekend. Because let’s face it: if you want to see the best in business cards, the Stationery Show is where it’s at.

* I have created custom Google Maps for favorite cities. Each map is so easy to set up, and once it’s done, I have all my must-see spots accessible at a glance. It makes my travel strategizing so much easier, and it’s a breeze to share my picks when friends + family ask me for recommendations.
