One week to go ….

And we’re slated for yet another snow storm today, starting at 3ish. (Nice how it always seems to coincide with carpool duty …..) Before it hits, I have to celebrate Magazine Thursday (pick up Vogue; drop off a card and gift) and stop off with some treats for the bakery. That’s right, I’m bringing treats to them. No, I did not bake the treats.

More later, I think, and then I’ll wrap it up for 2008 tomorrow with the Five.

Maria, your lovely blog will be missed. Thank you for more inspiration than you know.

Time for teacher gifts

teacher gifts, holiday 2008 | simple pretty

As there are three days of school left in 2008, it’s time to get teacher gifts ready + delivered. I cooked up some quickie personalized stationery and had my son write notes of appreciation to his two main teachers (when I taught – 11 years ago! – my favorite present, above everything, was a note from a student). I try to keep teacher gifts in the “usable” category: notepads, stationery, gift cards, and food.

Last year, I sent my son to school with pretzels from SweetsALLways, and they were a huge hit, so we’re sending them again. Bus driver, gym teacher, science teacher ….. covered! (I also ordered some “hot chocolate for one” kits and gave them as favors at Monday’s breakfast.)

All gifts are going to school with my son today, and I will cross yet another task off the list.
