Happy 2010! These past two weeks have flown by. Our four day trip to the Newport Beach area last week seems eons ago, not to mention Christmas. (Taking down the tree on the 27th will do that.) I’m always energized by the fresh start that January brings. Looking forward to cleaning house, literally and figuratively.
To ease my way back into blogging, I thought I’d start by sharing my New Year’s resolutions. If nothing else, I’m now accountable :)
- Eat thoughtfully. I won’t bore you with the details, but suffice to say, I do take in more than my fair share of junk food, as I have a wicked sweet tooth, and sometimes it’s easier to have a sweet snack than shop for a healthy alternative. My goal is to enjoy all things in moderation, which for me will mean more fruits & veggies and fewer cookies.
- Think before you speak.
- Work at handwriting each week. I’ve previously resolved to learn Spencerian Script (didn’t exactly happen) but what I’d really like is just better, neater handwriting. I’ve spent hours admiring other people’s penmanship. Hours that could have been spent making my own printing prettier. I’ve wished for instant perfection. How often does that happen?
Short and sweet, and hopefully, achieveable! What have you resolved for 2010?
p.s. My brother-in-law brought me a bowl from Poilâne for Christmas. (pictured above) I adore it! It’s bigger than I envisioned, but it’s gorgeous all the same.

Happy New Year! My resolution/goal is pretty typical…to use my new gym membership consistently. I was there at 5am today, so 1 for 1 so far!
Regarding resolution no. 3 – just keep practicing! You’ll be amazed at what a remarkable difference just doing it day after day can make. :)
The bowl is stunning! I love your resolutions, especially the handwriting one. I used to be proud of my penmanship but it’s become so unruly!
I love your second resolution. I remind myself to do that all the time. Doesn’t always work, but it’s an important habit.
so jealous :)
