One week to go until Halloween. We have one pumpkin. No costume plan. Hmmmm, has apathy set in at age 11? Or has my Halloween apathy rubbed off on him?
On with the Five:
- Evening Tea
- tall redhead
- The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit
- Mackinac Island, Michigan – Round Island Lighthouse; Round Island Passage Lighthouse; ‘Pintail’
- film ver.
And now for my question: I’ve been conflicted with posts this week. With the economy as it is (can we say awful?) I’ve struggled with posting “stuff”. How do you feel about it? Do you still like seeing pretty things? I know I do (I find just looking at them makes me feel better.) Leave a comment if you feel strongly one way or the other. See you Monday :)
Update: I really like how Marie at Ici put it: “I like to collect inspiration sometimes instead of things.” Exactly.
Happy Anniversary today to my parents and best wishes to R + A on their wedding day – tomorrow!

I love to look at pretty things–it’s my number one reason for blogging. And sometimes, just by posting something or saving a picture of it, it calms my frantic need to acquire it immediately!
I still like looking at pretty things, too, although that’s not the only reason I blog. I like reading other people’s stories, hearing about what makes them happy.
Looking at pretty things somehow calms me. I’m not sure how to explain it but I know I’d feel worse if you didn’t post your lovely stationery finds.
Please don’t stop posting pretty things!
Well said, Marie! I NEED pretty images. They make me happy and inspire me to not necessarily BUY things, but to use what I have ine new ways to make my surroundings pretty, too.
Such an interesting question, Jane. I like looking at and seeing lovely things and for me I need them especially at a time such as now.
