The Complete Engraver (Princeton Architectural Press) is a new release that details the history of engraving. Author Nancy Sharon Collins, a New Orleans-based graphic designer and stationer**, has coupled a wealth of information (including the etiquette of social stationery) with a visual feast of elegant layouts + plenty of eye candy in the way of photos and illustrations. Though engraving is now more of a niche option for printed matter, it remains a romantic and powerful means of communication. I’m holding onto this book for frequent reference and inspiration.

I’m so glad to know about this! As soon as I move and am allowed to buy books again, this will be at the top of my list. : )
