I’ve been rather blasé recently with the spring shows. Issey Miyake caught my eye (and impressed) with strong, graphic looks. See the full collection at Style.com.

Happy October! (Where did September go?) We’ve had such a run of fine, warm weather that I’ve forgotten all about the eventuality of cold Chicago falls. Luckily (ha ha) I’ll be getting a preview of that this weekend. 50s and chance for rain both days. The cute shoes pictured above will not be out and about this weekend!
On with the Five:
And speaking of favorites, if you like photo #4, you’ll love Lines & Shapes new book, Brooklyn Diary. I’ve already pre-ordered my copy and am eagerly anticipating its arrival in my mailbox. Did you happen to catch the launch of Scarf Shop this week? Full of fantastic colors + size options, not to mention perfect for chilly fall days. A regular scarf in “dusk” will be mine as soon as Martha restocks. (They sold out quickly!)
Have a splendid early October weekend. See you Monday.

the bridal party
I discovered Katherine Miller Events through the Charleston Magazine’s weddings website (a smashing little ad designed by Cheree Berry will suck me right in). Katherine is a wedding and event planner in the Charleston area, and her work is superb! The lowcountry wedding shown here (at Boone Hall Plantation, which looks utterly gorgeous) is simple, elegant and very pretty. Click over to Katherine’s website to see a wider range of her work, including more photos from the wedding shown here.

I am completely blown away by this: Elizabeth Robinson (Mia*Carta) designed a wedding website inspired by, and mirroring, the couple’s custom invitation suite from Mr. Boddington’s Studio. The result is simply stunning. I’m sure many of you recognize the Mr. Boddington typeface for “Wedding Weekend”, not to mention that the site’s background matches the invitation’s envelope liners! A+’s all around, including to the couple for attention to detail. It truly feels like a Mr. Boddington invitation brought to life.
