So simple; so charming. Brook Farm General Store’s milk & sugar set would be perfect at the breakfast table.

Happy Friday! After a week of rainouts (and therefore makeup games: ugh) I am pleased to say that we have no baseball games until Sunday, late afternoon. Which means that Saturday is wide open + full of possibility. Ordinarily, this would scream “trip to the city” but Taste of Chicago has begun, and to the traffic mess I say “No thank you.” Will have to come up with plan b. Until then,
On with the Five:
and 5a, for all of you Chicago storm survivors: Lightning strikes three of the tallest buildings in Chicago at the same time!
I’m liking the updates to Flickr. Not only are the photos larger, but my favorites page shows 72 photos at once. It’s great to have the larger dose of inspiration, even if it was overwhelming at first!
Speaking of adapting, part of my weekend will be spent learning all of the new functions for ios4. I updated on Tuesday, and spent the afternoon mourning the loss of the black background for my icons. And no, I am not getting the new iPhone, I just updated the os. (But I’m really coveting a white one. Will have to wait.)
Have a wonderful summer weekend. See you on Monday.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t stop staring at the bag. Gorgeous. See the full Akris resort collection at Style.com.

I’m drawn to natural palettes (I’ve noticed that I tend to dress in colors one might find in an oyster shell). Why not extend that to the home? July’s Elle Decoration (UK) shows you how to incorporate sea colors into a decorating scheme. (Lots of linens for texture.) So glad I picked up the issue.
p.s. And as someone at Flickr pointed out, the view at right is pretty spectacular.
