I’d really like to visit Philadelphia’s Institute of Contemporary Art to see the Maira Kalman: Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World) exhibit, running now through June 6. Her art always makes me smile (and I’m envisioning how fabulous the gift shop would be for this show!) If nothing else, I’ll pick up what looks to be the companion book at Amazon to pore over.

This was a blink-and-you’ve-missed-it kind of week for me. (The boys being away until Tuesday at lunch might have had something to do with that.) But I’m ready for the weekend. Aren’t you? Let’s get

Speaking of rainy days, it rained in Chicago yesterday, which is odd + frankly welcome in January. I’m looking forward to curling up with a mug of my new hot cocoa mix (from Lucia’s in Minneapolis; a shop I’ve been obsessed with and so my cousin sweetly sent me a “fix”) while I dig into a new book this afternoon. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

In a word: adore. From Emilio Pucci’s pre-fall collection. Peruse the rest at Style.com.

Pretty pre-fall looks from Valentino. I’m completely besotted with the first dress: it’s so sparkly, and yet relatively simple. The red tights make it especially striking. See the full collection at Style.com.

Yep, a few minutes of cursory online research is all it took: I’m now officially obsessed with Neyn. A doughnut shop “inspired by European confections” complete with beautiful website and an interesting concept: open only one year, and it’s closing in February! (Which of course is only making me want to visit all the more.) Click around + see if you’re not inspired to visit, too.
