For all of my clothing minimalism (jeans/teeshirt/cute flats), my head is turned by ornate necklaces. And so Tuesday’s Daily Candy Atlanta (why not read them all?) had me happily clicking through the portfolio of Katherine Dejarnette Babin. Her company, Dejarnette New Orleans has some luxe and funky (and gorgeous!) looking pieces. The ones featured here I’m wanting for myself. The “juliet” would work well with the jeans/tee look, I think. “The highest number” works well with my mathiness, and I pretty much love every piece in the “objet trouve” line. I’ve bookmarked the site to return for gifting, and to avoid any spoiled surprise, you’ll just have to guess which those are.

See you tomorrow.
By the way, yes, it was another sunny, spectacular summer day here. Thought you might be tired of the “I’m so happy!” reporting. Don’t worry, it’s supposed to rain and storm today.

The July/August issue of Elle Decor arrived over the weekend, and I’m still fixated on Frederic Fekkai and Shirin Von Wulffen’s house in Millbrook, NY. It’s gorgeous, of course, but there are also ideas I’d like to co-opt into my ongoing home decorating project. (It will never end, I fear.) For instance, I’d like a bull’s eye mirror somewhere in our house. I like the one pictured above.

And I want a chair for our bedroom. This one is perfect. (antique chair reupholstered in linen)

And minimalist that I am, no window treatments could be better than these (linen?) roman shades pictured above.
You can see the complete set of photos at the Elle Decor site.

Hooray! The winter issue of Wedding Style Guide is online. Sneak a peek at the book club shower/party (photo above). I think this is an incredibly smart idea for a shower. A nice mix of cookbooks, novels, and perhaps a David Sedaris (or two) would start a bride off quite nicely. But you could incorporate the “ex libris” labels for any book gifting you’re planning on. Check out the issue preview at styleguide.com.au. I can’t wait for the printed copy so I can read the interview with Deborah Lloyd, creative director at Kate Spade! (plus I need to see the top 10 weddings)

I’m starting to think I should pinch myself each morning because I cannot believe how fabulous the weather has been. Remember, I’m happiest in long sleeved tees and maybe a light cardigan. Your weather perfection may vary. Faced with yet another sunny day in the 70s on Monday, the birds were singing, and bunnies were hopping happily through the neighborhood. (There are so many more bunnies this year that my son thought we “imported” some to the neighborhood, like you would stock a pond with fish.) After lunch, we set out on another bike ride. This time, we discovered a new path through the arbortheatre, complete with a small waterfall. I spotted the thistle pictured above on our ride home. The flower stalks looked so happy in the afternoon sun.

June is winding down, and July 4th will be here before you know it. These patriotic lollipops, offered by Dean & Deluca, would be a perfect Independence Day treat. Not only are they adorable (Statue of Libertys and stars), but the flavors sound good to me, too! (raspberry, cherry and cotton candy) One dozen pops for $24 at the Dean & Deluca website. Yum.

I saw this dress in the Jil Sander ad in Sunday’s NYTimes. I. Want. It. (probably a bazillion dollars, but obsessions know no price tag)
There’s a new Jil Sander store in NYC, too. Sounds very interesting ….
