My latest typeface obsession is Aperçu, from Colophon Foundry (a subset of London design studio The Entente). Described as “a synopsis or amalgamation of classic realist typefaces”, it’s an instant favorite – so much so that I may have to spring for the specimen catalog.

I have been obsessed with this penguin watercolor by French artist Paule Marrot since I first spotted it while perusing William Laman‘s shop in Montecito over the summer of 2011. When it serendipitously appeared in the latest issue of Anthology magazine (on the wall of a gorgeous home belonging to San Francisco stylist Glenn Jenkins), I was convinced it was a sign. I immediately took to the internet + found it at Mecox Gardens. Now all that’s left is to summon the courage to click “buy” and take it to London with me!
