I’ve become a huge fan of the Jil Sander Navy line. Simple styles with beautiful fabrics and construction (and a reasonable price point). The spring collection, save the platform shoes, is no exception: I’m loving the looks shown here. See the complete show at Style.com.

Steven Alan continues to impress me with his casual-yet-polished interpretation of basics: I can see myself wearing either of these looks for spring. For the complete collection, visit Style.com.

* style.com has freshened up their website in conjunction with new york fashion week. it’s easier to navigate and visually appealing, with more focus on the photos from the collections.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself drawn to a “less is more” concept when it comes to clothing: buying fewer items, but aiming for quality. (It doesn’t hurt that I love the idea of a personal uniform.) Copenhagen boutique Parterre meshes perfectly with my strategy as well as my aesthetic. Owner Kirstine Meier Carlsen has a discerning eye, and stocks a great selection of utilitarian luxe basics, including personal favorite, Belgian designer Sofie d’Hoore. New to the shop this season are gorgeous leather bags and shoes from Neri Firenze. I’m smitten. Many of Parterre’s goods are available worldwide through Farfetch.com, but if you’re in Copenhagen, don’t miss it.

Happy Labor Day! Though I’m growing ever more fond of summer, this year’s hot + dry weather wreaked havoc on the garden. The hydrangeas decided not to flower, an emphatic “no thank you” to the heat. I’ve had to redirect my fascination (and photography) to the anemone, which is flourishing this year.
