Running behind (but time marches on)

lasalle street hydrangea in late summer | simple pretty

It’s been a long time since we’ve had any good amount of rain, which means I am back to convening with nature on a regular basis, holding the hose over the thirsty flowers. The upside is that I’m forced to notice what’s “going on”. And I have to say, with the past few days on the cool side, I’m seeing signs of autumn everywhere. On my run today the path was covered with leaves (brown, dry leaves, but still ….). The hydrangea blooms are winding down, and the hostas are in full flower.

So I guess that I’m thankful for the dry spell, because it has forced me away from my stack of magazines and my computer, and reminded me that the long and cold winter is closer than I’d like to admit. Time to get out there and enjoy the sun and the warmth and the golden light that is fall.

See you later …..
