Chicago is definitely running behind schedule this year in spring weather (and flowers). By early June, I’m usually in peony heaven. This year, I’m still in anticipation mode. (Delayed gratification isn’t so bad when it means my favorite flower will be here just a bit longer.) While I wait, enjoy some favorite Flickr shots from May:
- Cherries
- my (other) table, yesterday
- Find me a man who’s interesting enough to have dinner with and I’ll be happy
- frothy indian coffee
- rosy rhubarb soda
- Untitled
Can you sense my longing for outdoor living through my choices? I’m more than ready. Happy Weekend to you.

look 11: quite besotted with yellow + gray at the moment
Jenni Kayne’s resort collection is lovely. Simple + pretty, I’d say. See the complete show at Style.com.

Simpy brilliant stationery work from Annemarie Buckley for Scout’s Honor Co. My heart did a happy dance as I scrolled through the blog, drawn in by the simple yet classically modern designs. (Love the color palette, too.) Based in Burlington, VT, the online shop cannot open soon enough.

“in the cooler”
I absolutely LOVE the website for Minneapolis florist Spruce, from the glimpse at the shop’s flower bar (with pleat-skirted bar stools) to the genius idea of showcasing what’s “in the cooler”. Owner Amy Backman has infused the space with charm: wish I could pop in for a bouquet.

Ells
How sweet are these letterpress baby announcements from Chicago designer Alyson Beaton? Loving their clever simplicity. Click over to Alyson’s new site, Grow Books Press, or to her blog, to see more (like a delightful butterfly poster) and order.
