The only thing better than letterpress business cards is Lilliputian letterpress business cards. And these, by Armato Design, are fantastic. (So tiny!!) Available through the Armato Design Etsy shop.

While The School of Life was officially on holiday during our visit, we managed to have a quick look around, as there were a couple of employees working in their back offices. Inside, the School is spare but spectacular, aided by the keen design of Susanna Edwards and Joseph Harries. (Isn’t the gift wrap fab?) I bought two wooden tokens as a keepsake: one for my buddy (good “for playing one game”) and one for me (for a coffee/tea date). I left wishing I lived in London so I could take advantage of a class or two. Instead, I’ll have to continue to substitute their excellent (and thought provoking) blog. With topics ranging from regret, to talent, to creativity, it’s especially fun when author Alain de Botton weighs in, as he is one of my all-time favorite writers.
Loving the style of Spoon & Sailor‘s letterpress stationery. The wedding invitation above is an immediate favorite. So simple + elegant. (With lots of white space, which I loooove.)

Happy Friday! We’re 2 1/2 days into the new school year, which means adjustments for everyone. Homework for my buddy; lots of driving for me. I’m ready, though: bring on early fall.
On with the Five:
Have a great weekend! I think we’re making one last pilgrimage to the lake and then on Monday it’s time to settle in with fall’s resolutions and plans. (Simplification is still at the top of my list.) See you then.
It might seem odd that I flew 8 hours to have pizza. But I’d read nothing but rave reviews about London’s Story Deli, and so when my traveling buddies gave me the “Are you kidding?” looks I had to insist that we go for lunch. For starters, I had to see the artful collection of mirrors, and more importantly, the pizza was delicious. I got instant cred with my buddies, which made the 5,000,000 other places I “had” to go a bit easier for them to accept.
