So pleased to have found San Francisco’s In Haus Press through the Felt & Wire Shop. Subdued in style yet utterly appealing. (And of course, I’m especially smitten with “der vogel”.)

Perfection in pink. I l-o-v-e the dress above (and the pink pansuit made for a fabulous opening statement: sweet, but not “too”). No surprise that I’m salivating over Narciso Rodriguez’ resort line. See the complete collection at Style.com.

So glad that I picked up Vogue Living over the holiday weekend. The March/April issue featured Belgian artist Sofie Lachaert, and I came away completely inspired (and amazed).
Galerie Sofie Lachaert, in Tielrode, Belgium, serves as not only a gallery and office (Ms. Lachaert designs jewelry), but also functions as a small bed & breakfast with two guest rooms. From the magazine’s photos, it appears to be simple yet completely stunning. I admire her skill at combining the working and living spaces to arrive at something so serene. Adding this to my “hope to visit” list, even if it’s just for tea and a tour. And I’d have to ask where she found the black flats she’s sporting in the photos. I’m coveting their comfy/chic style.
Happy Friday, Happy Memorial Day Weekend + Happy Summer! (And truth be told, Happy Peony Season: mine burst into flower this week so I’m making the most of it. Above is a glimpse of bouquet #2 ….)
On with the Holiday Weekend Five:
Speaking of getting ready, I’m really excited for Maria’s launch of Wee next week. Custom letterpressed onesies sound perfectly adorable, don’t they? The pop-up shop opens Tuesday, June 1.
I’m taking next week off from blogging. Memorial Day marks the four year anniversary for my little blog: what started as somewhat stream-of-consciousness musings has evolved into a lifestyle blog with a definite/consistent point of view. Though I won’t be posting, rest assured I’ll be reading, relaxing, taking a field trip to the zoo (!?!), and sitting on the patio, having a glass of iced tea (or two). Sometimes, that’s the best way to get inspired: let it find you.
I’ll be back on June 7th. Until then, hope your start to summer is sublime.
Before I go: if you have a thought or opinion you’d like to share with me about simple + pretty, whether it’s something you’d like to see more of, or something you could do without, please leave a comment or send me an email. I’d love to hear from you.
