Isn’t the “Evy” script delicious? Such a fresh, simple, and springy baby shower invite from Meg Paradise. I could use a little spring right now.

Printed Ephemera

After reading rave reviews by some favorite bloggers, I added John Lewis’ Printed Ephemera to my Christmas list, and I’m happy to report that my husband found a used copy for me. It is eye candy: full of visual inspiration. I find myself picking it up again and again just for a “quick look”, and end up poring over it, studying the use of colors and typefaces. I photographed a few of my favorite pages to entice you ….

Note: used copies are available at amazon.com – as of this writing the cheapest option was around $170, but i paid far less than that.

Boy With Airplane Postcard

Completely charmed by this silkscreened postcard’s image and all of the details (twill tape + glassine!). Even better, it’s sold as a set of two: one to use and one to save. From Humunuku.

This nifty Designer’s Notebook seems tricked out with all the things I like: a pocket, tracing paper, stickers, and a ruler. (Plus, the elastic band. Heaven!) I cannot wait ’til it’s released in April. Available to pre-order from Chronicle Books.

Friday Flickr Five

kate spade paper catalogs with illustrations by laura stoddart | simple pretty

Well, there’s no denying it: January is here. Cold + snow with the upside of increasing daylight. I tend to turn into a hermit in this weather (except for occasional trips to soccer practice), so I’m hoping for a January thaw or two to encourage venturing. While I wait, I’ll be spending a lot of time indoors, cleaning out closets, and rediscovering saved treasures, like the Kate Spade Paper catalogs I dug out on Thursday. They’re like little works of art + I smile every time I flip through them.

On with the Five:

  1. a fresh start
  2. necessary things
  3. untitled
  4. untitled
  5. thorpes

Have a wonderful weekend + stay warm! See you on Monday …..
