If I am ever whisked off to Buenos Aires, my first stop will be Papelera Palermo, what looks to be a jewel of a paper shop, where — I think — everything is made in house, by hand. There are lovely paper and cloth bound folios, notebooks, hand-printed papers, and so on. They have a fabulous selection of paper-covered boxes, and there’s an origami section, too.

Good morning! I’m Elisabeth, and I’m happy to fill in for Jane while she’s off having fun in San Francisco. I have a blog and am the person behind a letterpress shop called Black Pearl Press.
I don’t even know where to begin here: Jane suggested 1 or 2 posts and I can think of a dozen, mainly because I have a habit of seeing things here and there and thinking ‘oh that’s so Jane’. It is not unusual for me to see a photo on Flickr, and click to see who added it to their favorites, just to confirm that it’s Jane (it’s happened twice while putting together these posts!). So all of this is to say that I hope to show some things that Jane would show, but things that Jane may not know about (she probably does).

First up is viaLetter, a super-cool shop that allows you to send “real letter messages”, partly because the brains behind it is bonkers about typography and wants to “spread the word of beautiful type”. You can input any message you fancy and send it to someone who would appreciate an unusual and fun package in the mail.
You can see a Flickr set of viaLetter words right here.

Hello, and Happy Valentine’s Eve Day! It’s getaway weekend for me: the three of us are flying to San Francisco on Saturday for a mini vacation. The forecast calls for rain all weekend, but hopefully it won’t slow us down much. The to-do/to-see list is too long.
On with the Five:
- untitled
- untitled
- cafe rituals
- you have my heart
- the getaway
Since I’ll be away, there won’t be any blog posts on Monday (President’s Day), but I’ve lined up two great guest bloggers to keep you company on Tuesday and Wednesday. So check in and see what Elisabeth and Suann have to say.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Make some cookies for me!

I am so eager for spring to arrive. This book might help me plan (and dream) while I wait. Love the cover.
