A calming image like this is perfect on a day like today. Thanks, J.Crew!

Over the past few days, I’ve found two of the most glorious advent calendars. Handmade, from felt, they are both just spectacular. The first is from Brooke at Inchmark. It reminds me of our family’s advent calendar from way, way back, but better. (I refuse to believe she produced this under deadline.)

The second is from the purl bee, and it, too is handcrafted from felt. I really like how colorful this version is, and how adult or older-child suitable it is. The pockets could be filled with candy, notes, or as pictured above, notions. I think if I start on January 2, and dedicate myself, I could have one ready for the three of us in time for the 2009 holidays. (Craftiness is not my gift. Appreciating craftiness is.)

Happy Thursday, and welcome to another installment of places I’d like to visit. I think lunch at the Wiveton Farm Cafe, in Norfolk, England, sounds delightful. See the menu below.

Can you stand one more letterpress post today? Because I think these Saint Nick cards, from Oblation Papers & Press, are super sweet. A set of eight for $14. More Oblation holiday cards online.

And while we’re talking letterpress, how fab is this “Bellini” invitation set from Real Card Studio? Full of color and fun! See this and more at their website.
