Charleston Weddings’s current issue features this gorgeous invitation for a 2006 wedding in Telluride from Sideshow Press. Thanks to Courtney at Sideshow for sending these photos for a better look. I hope to share more work from Sideshow (holiday!) very soon.

All things coffee

I love coffee. My morning can’t start without two cups, prepared at home. I’m a cafe au lait girl so there has to be steamed milk: currently I’m using 2% and adding a touch of sugar. I kicked my Splenda habit a month ago.

I also love coffee shops, and so the recent NYTimes article, “Bean Town”, about boutique coffee houses in NYC intrigued me. I ended up researching many of the shops featured in the article out of curiosity. If you share my taste in graphic design, I think you’ll enjoy the websites for Think, Oslo, and Ninth Street Espresso. I can’t vouch for the coffee yet (although they’ve certainly been added to the places to go) but the virtual visits were lots of fun.

Still want more? Check out Flickr member Arancia Project’s collection of coffee cups. (Another reason why I’m in love with the internet.)

And finally, if you want to see how a barista at Ninth Street Espresso makes your cup of coffee look like art (unlike my sad little attempt above) check out this NYTimes video.

Ina’s New Book!

Tuesday is becoming bookstore day for me this month. Today, I’m picking up Ina Garten’s new book, Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics. As her recipes are always straight forward (and delicious!) there is no way I’ll be able to wait two months for it to appear under the tree.

I love Ina’s decorating style, too, as I’ve spent a good amount of time watching her Food Network show and envying her house and gardens. This month, two of Ina’s houses are featured in magazines. What I love about her look is it is elegant, but with a very lived-in/comfortable quality. I aspire to that feel in my house. I can pull off elegant or lived in, but not concurrently. (Elegant requires roping off the room, and well, lived in alone is way too easy.) House Beautiful’s November issue showcases her new barn in East Hampton. (See a photo slideshow at housebeautiful.com. I chose the photo below because I am crazy for that purse. So simple! Plus, I love the desk.)

And in November’s Town & Country (Brooke Shields cover), you can see Ina’s Paris apartment plus read her insider’s picks. Oh how I want to visit Paris! (I don’t normally read T&C, but I lucked out and found it in a desperate airport moment.)

I hope you don’t mind yet another Kate Spade post, because I saw these notecards and I love them. Wouldn’t they make the cutest baby thank you notes?
