Jordan is very creative, and our tastes are similar. Therefore, when she announced her “pretty little things club” this morning, it was a no-brainer for me: I’m in. Let the anticipation begin.

My to-do list for this week is long. Therefore, I’ll kick off the week of posts with a brief “hello” and a quick recipe (if you can call sandwich components a recipe):</p.
Turkey/Havarti/Pear Sandwich
toast bread; spread with mayo. thinly slice a “luscious dessert” pear and place on bread slices. for the filling, add turkey, havarti, lettuce, and a bit of balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
It’s the blt of late September.
I’m sure I’ll see you again today. I am an internet addict, after all.
Happy Monday.

Belatedly, after admiring Emily and Laura’s Mosaic of Me posts, I decided to get in on the action (my answers in italics):
1. What is your first name? (jane)
2. What is your favorite food? (chocolate chip cookie)
3. What high school did you attend? (assumption high school)
4. What is your favorite color? (orange)
5. Who is your celebrity crush? (jon stewart)
6. Favorite drink? (coffee)
7. Dream vacation? (paris)
8. Favorite dessert? (pots de creme)
9. What do you want to be when you grow up? (changed yearly: doctor or a lawyer, I thought)
10. What do you love most in life? (quiet moments)
11. One word to describe you? (direct)
12. Your Flickr name? (speckledegg)
Next step is to type your answers into Flickr’s search. Then, using pictures from the first page of the search only, put together a mosaic using Mosaic Maker. (3 columns; 4 rows) Finally, if you’re me, be amazed that you got it to work!
Try it yourself if you’re so inclined …. happy weekend!

I like the new Cross and Spot pattern from Emma Bridgewater. (But I still wish they’d bring back Utility.)

I can’t believe this is the last September weekend. It’s been so warm in Chicago lately that “fall” hasn’t begun to sink in. We have a busy weekend coming up: Friday night and Sunday night soccer games, and my son’s birthday “gathering” on Saturday night. Plus, my bakery, Green Prairie, is now open Sundays, starting this weekend. They’ve promised pancakes and eggs and all sorts of good things. I’m still thinking about my Thursday breakfast: the cinnamon scone, pictured above. Too good to be true.
On with the Five:
Cross your fingers that the warm weather holds out long enough for seven boys to play wiffle-ball homerun derby. After that, it can cool off. I’m ready for hot tea season to begin.
See you Monday!
