Someone needs to buy this dress

gap kids navy dotted dress | simple pretty

While at Gap today (buying boxers & tee shirts) I spotted this sweet dress at GapKids. It’s totally adorable, and will not fit anyone in my household :)

Didn’t notice the polka dots in the store – it looked pretty solid, I have to admit ….

Lucky find

my favorite “look”

I picked up September Lucky yesterday, and spent a good hour or so sticky tabbing it up. Then got out the scissors and worked my cutting and pasting magic (my favorite way to save magazine snippets). The best discovery had to be Martin clothes, designed by Anne Albert. Great options for the minimalist uniform. Simple, yet nothing boring about it.

Kitchen picture and the Five

lasalle street kitchen renovation complete | simple pretty

I suspect some of you will start to realize how “pile prone” I am with this photo. Thursday brought mid-day showers, so I snapped this photo quickly while the light was good, but I didn’t clean up first. As you can see, OCD me still has the plastic wrap on the hood and the refrigerator, as there is still moulding work and touch up painting to be done. Not to mention that the final plumbing and electrical inspections are scheduled for this morning! Guess that means at least one more kitchen photo ….

On with the Five:

  3. Petits Habits
  4. untitled
  5. Quei giorni perduti a rincorrere il Vento…

Have a wonderful weekend! and Happy August! See you on Monday.

It’s a really small world …..

So, we’re watching Project Runway last night, and my son asks who won season 3, (as we saw Laura Bennett, who did not win, on the screen) and I remind him it was Jeffrey. Then he asked if Jeffrey was the guy who made Angela’s mother cry during a challenge. And then my husband pipes in that Angela’s brother is Chris Keslar from Flipping Out. He says he heard it at the office, and checked it out at Wikipedia. True.

Wow. We watch way too much reality tv.

Hot weather has me thinking September?

blueberries | simple pretty

Reality, the summer version, has set in. The 90s are here for an extended visit, and although that means bountiful produce (like these yummy blueberries), it doesn’t do much for me fashion wise, as I tend to wear and re-wear those things that I don’t mind turning into a sweaty mess.

But for an escape, this afternoon I’m headed over to a hopefully icy-cold Barnes & Noble to check out the first delivery of September magazines. Oh yeah, the month I look forward to all year (magazine wise anyway) is upon us. For the fashionista in me, I’ll be looking for Lucky, Glamour, and Vanity Fair. VF’s website issue preview has me eager to see the 80s supermodels feature, as well as the best-dressed list. Lucky? the LA shopping feature hooked me, and Glamour, well, it’s September. I’ll give it a scan. Could be just what I’m looking for. For fashionable food, I’m hoping to pick up the new Bon Appetit …. wish me luck!

See you tomorrow with a kitchen photo and the Five.

Congratulations, kamewh! You’ve won! Please visit my profile and email me your shipping address and I’ll get the Audrey set on its way.
