If I should happen to win the lottery between now and September, some of the money will be going toward an outfit from Bottega Veneta. Perfection. Classic. Want it. (That blue coat is incredible!) Check out the rest here.

I love coffee. A morning without it is just not, well, morning. My husband only likes the smell of coffee. I like it all: the taste, the warmth of the mug against your hands, the milky foam on top (my preferred drink is a cafe au lait, or misto if you’re at Starbucks). And so, when I read this article in the NYTimes, I just knew I’d be dragging my husband and son to the Blue Bottle Coffee Co’s new cafe in Mint Plaza to see the siphon bar, and to order an au lait. They are good sports, and so we stopped in. The visit did not disappoint: even the signage made me happy. (I must spend more time on penmanship!)

While we were there, it seemed there was a mini “class” of sorts going on. Three people were seated at the siphon bar, sampling coffee and taking notes. Not exactly sure, though. The au lait, by the way, was wonderful! If you’re in SF, you should go …..

Fear not – I have more San Francisco stories to share. But while reuniting with my iBook today, I fell in love with these dresses from the Jil Sander fall collection, designed by Raf Simons. See the rest here.

One of my favorites from our San Francisco trip was the Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market. Our hotel was right across the street, so on Saturday morning, we were ready bright and early to check it out. Coffee in hand, we walked through all the tents, and saw artisanal cheese, satsumas, carrots, oysters, flowers …. each looked better than anything I’ve seen in Chicago in months. I felt healthier just looking at it.

Seems that I was drawn to orange during our stroll. I wish we could have bought more, but since we don’t live in SF, we picked up some Galaxy Granola and called it a day. (I really wanted to buy some gorgeous curly willow branches!) Learn more about the market here.

Oh, what a marvelous weekend we had! San Francisco served up some lovely, lovely weather for us. My feet hurt from all of the walking (do not bring only “cute” shoes is my travel tip) but it was all so much fun that I didn’t want to come home. More later, but wanted to check in ….
