Field Trip: Stitch, A Design Co.

One of the highlights of my recent trip to Charleston was visiting Stitch, a charming graphic design studio with a new office space on Cannon Street. Actually, Stitch and Sideshow Press (their letterpress stationery line) share the space. Stitch is comprised of designers Courtney Gunter and Amy Pastre; Sideshow adds Virginia Gregg who runs the press production.) I’ve “talked” to Courtney and Amy many times via email/twitter/etc but it was great to finally put faces with the names and have a look at their new home. (And let’s face it, get to hold some of their gorgeous work in my hands.) I was blown away by the lovely cards and stationery they recently designed for Tara Guerard/Soiree. The back of the card pictured above is flocked and it’s so fabulously luxe. (You can read more about their design process for Tara here.) They’ve also recently finished updating Charleston restaurant FIG’s identity. Pictured above is FIG’s new letterpressed comment card, which is a thoughtful detail. I could have stayed and talked to Team Stitch all day … but they work, too, so I enjoyed my coconut cupcake (from Sugar!) and made plans to visit again soon. Thanks, Courtney, Amy, and Virginia for a lovely afternoon. Glad we were finally able to connect. You can see more pictures from my visit, including Courtney and Amy’s inspiration boards, at Flickr.
