All self-interest aside (more on that in a minute)*, if you like the new wave of indie magazines, I think you’ll love the new travel/food magazine Cereal. Based in the UK, the premiere issue (and website) launched December 3. Editor/founder Rosa Park should be quite proud of her accomplished début: it is not only gorgeously designed, but full of inspiring articles and photography. One of my favorite stories from the issue features a simple yet utterly charming carrot cake (excerpt below).
Hopefully, these preview photos give you a good idea of the magazine’s aesthetic. If you’re as eager to hold a copy in your hands as I am, Cereal is ready to purchase online and will be available at various international retail outlets: visit the website to find a US stockist.
*Self-interest disclosure: I am quite honored to be one of the contributors to the launch issue, with a story about Copenhagen’s Central Hotel & Café.
