There is nothing I like better than looking at party pictures, and I especially love baby showers: they appeal to my girlier side in style (decorating/stationery) and substance (What can I say? I love shower food!), This baby shower, held recently for Sugar Paper‘s Jamie Grobecker and her husband, is just the sort of party I’d like to attend. The pink and green theme, which starts with the invitations and sweetly flows throughout, is pure eye candy, and you can just feel the happiness oozing out of the photos. Congratulations, Jamie and Evan!

California’s Gigi Press has won me over with its classic, simple letterpressed designs accentuated by an appealing modern color palette. Offering personal stationery, boxed notecards, and custom designs (with ready-to-write stationery coming soon): any would make a most elegant impression in your favorite recipient’s mailbox. Because who doesn’t like getting something pretty in the mail?

I love books that unlock desires. Books that show me places I don’t have access to, living in suburbia. That’s why I’m completely enthralled with Lotta Jansdotter’s latest book, Open Studios. Just released, it’s a behind-the-scenes tour into 24 artists’ spaces, full of beautiful photography, interviews and anecdotes. I found myself nodding my head in agreement (and yes, excitement) with Lotta’s choices for the Brooklyn section, which includes personal favorites Pip-squeak Chapeau, Sesame Letterpress, and Hable Construction. The Stockholm and Tokyo portions have been dutifully dog-eared for future reference. Because you never know where your travels will take you ….

Once again, I am belatedly getting around to posting my monthly Flickr favorites. Perhaps it’s because, though time is churning along, it feels like we’re stuck on winter mode. The only evidence I have to the contrary is that spring sports are here, complete with outdoor practice. Without further ado, and as an antidote, have a look at these lovely pics, won’t you?

Back tomorrow with the usual Wednesday post. Until then, cheers!
p.s. My photo is of my new Emma Bridgewater Utility plates. Exclusive to Liberty, and I’m overjoyed, as I had been pestering EB to re-release the range forever. Ordering from Liberty couldn’t have been easier, by the way. What a great team they have.

Wedding Style Guide’s Summer issue features a fantastic party celebrating Australia Day. One glance at the color scheme tells you it would translate quite readily to a Memorial Day or Fourth of July party here in the US. (Living in the Midwest, I am champing at the bit for outdoor living season.) Barbeque, fizzy drinks, and strawberry shortcake? Sounds like the perfect party to me. And bonus: WSG makes the invitations, tags, and signs for the party available as downloadable templates, right down to the stripey envelope liner.
