We spent most of the weekend in Kenosha, Wisconsin for my son’s soccer tournament (his team placed second in his group, in case you were wondering). When my friend R found out we were going, she told us we absolutely had to find our way to Oliver’s Bakery. Oh, she knows me well. We stopped in Saturday afternoon and picked up: a blueberry muffin, two apple turnovers, three doughnuts, and a kringle, pictured above. Oliver’s is so famous for its kringles that they will ship them anywhere in the US. May I recommend the raspberry?
Loved the visit. Thanks, R! and thanks to the helpful and friendly staff at Oliver’s. We had a great time selecting pastries! For our next Kenosha visit, R suggests we eat at Franks. I’ve penciled it in.

Add another book to my fall must-buy list: I will be studying up on the career of Narciso Rodriguez starting October 21. The course? Fashion Minimalism 101.

This cute letterpressed card is multi-purpose, but I see it as the perfect “Welcome home from your first day of school!” note.
Papered Together letterpressed notecard, available at Greer.

The first day of school is now in process! They have two hours of class, so it’s kind of a tease. At least I’ll get some laundry done before he returns for lunch.
More school themed posts later. Right now, I’m headed for a cup of coffee and the crossword.

I’m not usually a nightie girl, but this “rosalicious nighty” from Wallace Cotton in Australia might change my mind.
