J.Crew’s September collection is online, and I love this girls’ fairy dust sequin cardigan. For all of my minimalism, I’ve sure got it bad for the sequins …..

A late Sunday afternoon hello to you all. Thought I’d kick off back-to-school week with a “tag sale” workout dvd giveaway. These are not new, but could be new to you! The winner will receive MTV Power Yoga with instructor Kristin McGee, as well as Pilates Intermediate Mat Workout with Ana Caban. Both are great (with favorable amazon reviews), I just don’t use a dvd for Pilates any more (the routine follows classical pilates), and yoga, well, I’ve gotten a bit lazy with my yoga practice. My loss could be your gain.
Here are the rules:
Thanks, and good luck!

I bought September InStyle to read on the train ride home …. and fell in love with this sweater. JCrew, cashmere, a little glitz …. what’s not to love? Not online yet – and not in the September catalog, either. October? Maybe?

Today’s Daily Candy/Chicago introduced me to Chloe & Reese, and this lovely dress pictured above. It’s available at Samantha Chicago. If I had known about this yesterday, I would have tried it on (and bought it?) Love it. The rest of the collection is cute, too.

I’m typing this, drink to my left, at 8 pm or so on Thursday night, having spent a lovely day in the city. The gallery was great, lunch (at Elements with treats from Hot Chocolate: bonus!) was great, and the play was outstanding! If you’re in town and can find a way to squeeze it in before it closes on September 7, you should. But even outstanding days can leave you in need of time to unwind. I’m also mentioning the 8pm type time because a few people have asked how/why I was writing these posts at 5am. I’d like to assure you that more often than not, I am sound asleep at 5am, especially now that the sunlight is not streaming through the windows quite that early. That’s just the time I’ve scheduled for the first post of the day.
Now that I’ve explained myself, on with the Five:
And my photo at the top? It’s the chocolate brioche that I picked up last Friday from Tatte, at the Copley Square Farmer’s Market. Butter + Chocolate = Purchase, every time, followed shortly by running.
See you on Monday, the First Day of School. Or maybe a bit before. Enjoy your weekend
