oh, is that skirt cute!
Sara at Party Perfect reminded me of just how broke I would be if I were in charge of dressing a little girl, because I would not be able to pass up either of these outfits from Flora and Henri. Perfection in concept and styling.

Today’s NYTimes has a short feature on John Derian’s collection for Target. It seems that sales will start September 7, not the 14th. I’m really excited to see the wrapping paper. That could be a fun way to incorporate the John Derian look at Target prices. (If google searches are any indication of demand, this stuff will go fast.)

Tomorrow is meet-the-teacher/drop-off-supplies day. This weekend? Soccer tournament (of course). School starts on Monday. Which means today is the last full day of summer vacation. And my long list of things we were going to do is still pretty long. I’m hoping to cross off two items today. My buddy and I are taking the train to the city for lunch, then hopefully to peek in the Carl Hammer Gallery at “Contents”, the exhibition by photographer Francois Robert, followed by the matinee performance of Lookingglass Alice.
Whew! Hopefully this (plus fond memories of Coldplay) will stave off the inevitable “We never do anythings” for a bit.
See you tomorrow with the Five.

I need to get started on my Wednesday, but before I go, this photo makes me want to get on a plane to Portland, OR (actually, I’d like to skip the plane part) and go directly to the little t bakery. Chelsea, have you been??

Between the Olympics and the ever present ESPN in our house (yesterday I actually turned on SportsCenter myself – like I needed to know how the pennant races are shaping up or something) I am definitely seeing more beer and sporting goods commercials than I used to. The current Nike “Courage” commercial grabbed me with the song. It’s from the Killers, “All These Things I’ve Done”, and it makes for excellent running, especially if your strategy is to go out way too fast and regret it later. And it’s only four years old, so I’ve only been out of the music loop for how long? My music taste tends to lean toward things I find from commercials and whatever I’m hearing and loving on WXRT, and will soon be augmented by recommendations from my son. I’m sure of that.
