Good morning! It’s currently two below zero, and windy. I think I’ll stay inside today, thanks. Time for the final giveaway (for awhile, at least). It’s a copy of Wendy Bellissimo’s “nesting” book, complete with dvd, which features foods, crafts, and other inspirations. I bought this book back when it came out, because of the photography, and because I love Wendy’s designs. (The “nesting” link offers even more of a preview.) Why is it going? In a nutshell: my son is 10, and not likely to go for any of the decorating ideas or parties highlighted in this book. I’d like to see it go to a good home, though, and to sweeten the deal (and truth be told, further persuade you to comment), I’m including a “coochie coo” card designed by pink loves brown. They just seem to go together.

Marchesa featured lots of pretty gowns, perfect for parties, or the red carpet. Love these three. See their full collection for fall here.

Most of Francisco Costa’s fall collection for Calvin Klein was austere, bordering on severe: a look that can work if you’re young, but can make someone “older” (me?) look angry. I do love his aesthetic, though, and think the two dresses above have that softness that broadens their appeal. See the full collection at nymag.com.

One of my good friends hates my fashion week coverage. I know it; she knows it. But fashion week or not, Friday Flickr Five is here! So R, this is for you:
- Good, good, good, good vibrations
- breakfast
- good morning, 2008
- write it down
- warming toddy
Going a little stir crazy here, by the way. The foot of snow is making driving impossible. It didn’t help to learn that our quaint little village (not really so quaint or little) is running low on road salt. I got stuck today for a few minutes in the Starbucks parking lot ….. why, oh why, did I need to go out for iced tea? Because I hadn’t left the house in two days, that’s why! And it sounded good …..
Have a nice weekend – I’m hoping to pop in at least once with more fashion coverage.

Huge love and happiness this morning for Isaac Mizrahi’s fall collection! Love the cummerbund waist detail; love the simplicity. Oh, and did you happen to notice how cool the shoes are? Sign me up for a pair of those flats in the bottom photo. They are exactly my style.
Don’t forget to check out Isaac’s new site here.
postscript: Did you catch Isaac’s fashion show this morning on Good Morning America? (I lucked out and caught it during my elliptical workout, because the televisions at the park district are always tuned to abc.) The dresses were even prettier “live”. More photos should be at Isaac’s website starting at noon.
