Per usual, loving the aesthetic at Céline for pre-fall. The straw hats (and handbags) are fantastic accents. See the complete collection at Style.com.

Happy New Year! I’m in the throes of organizing at the moment: not the most original of tasks, but a necessary one. Never does excess seem more apparent than in the days immediately following Christmas. So January, by default, becomes a month of triage, cleaning and organizing. And I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to enjoying the process.
While you ease back into a routine, enjoy these Flickr favorites from December:

Happy 2013! Christmas seems like ages ago (traveling over the holidays will do that), but I wanted to share the foodie gift boxes that I made for my siblings and their families. I’ve happily adopted the tradition of edibles as presents: it’s so much fun selecting and sharing some of my discoveries from favorite shops + travel spots. Hopefully, one or two of my finds will pique your interest, as the idea is adaptable to myriad celebrations.

Though I’ll never tire of simple, minimalist design for my stationery, 2012 was the year I became obsessed with elaborate envelope liners. The seeds of this obsession were planted in 2010 by Sideshow Press with gorgeous, Audubon-themed liners for a save-the-date, and then in July 2012 with stunning floral liners for a wedding invitation.
The result of my obsession? Holiday cards that are simple (but edged in gold!) paired with a luxe bird liner that feels festive and wintery. Thanks are in order for the talented ladies at Sideshow Press: they turned out perfect.
My latest sweet-tooth craving is Sockerbit candy. The store, in NYC’s West Village is bright and cheery, the staff are super-friendly, and the Swedish candy is delicious. Sadly, my son will not find any Sockerbit in his stocking this year because his mother had no willpower. (Yes, it’s that good – especially my favorite, “red & blue energy”. I’ll be ordering replenishments in January.)
