NSS: Sugar Paper

look closely!

I was giddy with anticipation to visit Sugar Paper’s booth. This is Sugar Paper’s first visit to NSS and they’re launching all sorts of new product, including new custom albums as well as boxed card sets (and gift tags similar to the one I picked up at their store!) Sugar Paper is a favorite of mine for their aesthetic + perfection in execution: their booth was gorgeous and it felt exactly like walking in to one of their cute LA shops.

Love love love the sample wall above. Their work is so recognizable, which is a feat: the designs are simple + elegant, and yet you immediately know it’s Sugar Paper. The attention to detail goes from store design + display to paper sourcing to envelope design. All perfect, by the way …..

more new product!

I’m quite taken with the cute recipe card box. Wouldn’t that color dress up your kitchen counter?

Bookmark Sugar Paper‘s site as they’ll be launching a whole new website this summer ….. Thanks to Chelsea for your time at the show! It was so nice to meet you at last! (I need to get back to LA and pore over each of those custom books!)

NSS: Dee & Lala

dee & lala’s booth

I love Dee & Lala’s simplicity + whimsy, not to mention great use of color and attention to detail.

It was a treat to see the full collection (I have a couple of cards from the “candy store” and “farmland collections” pictured above.)

“miscellaneous” cards, including my favorite

But I think my favorite from Dee & Lala was the Goldfish/”Sorry for your loss” sympathy card pictured above, bottom center. It just made me smile. Visit the Dee & Lala website for more info and the full line.

I’m back!

the model as muse, metropolitan museum of art 2009 | simple pretty

What a fabulous weekend! It was even better than I’d hoped. No rain (yay!) so I was able to spend all of Saturday walking SoHo/NoLIta, and even made it to the Met for the Model as Muse exhibit. (Isn’t that Dior dress stunning?)

On Sunday, Suann and I walked the show. (Suann, I’m so glad we met: you are so sweet + I am coveting your cute handbag today!) Posts from the NSS are on the way shortly ….. and will most likely continue all week.

Off to the show Friday Flickr Five

simple pretty business cards, designed by black pearl press | simple pretty

Business cards? Check. (Thanks, E!) Suitcase packed? Not quite. Still waiting on a “final” forecast, which I hope will be dry. Nonetheless, I am mentally ready to go for Saturday shopping (John Derian, Partners & Spade, Makie, Purl) + Sunday with Suann (so excited to finally meet!) at the Stationery Show. And you know what that means: next week will be full of paper postings and shop reporting, so gear up. But first,

On with the Five:

  1. work by junko kamei
  2. tea cup stack
  3. new additions for the empty frame wall
  4. Keeping Watch
  5. chives in plan

My current plan is to tweet from the Stationery Show, so if you’re at all curious please click on over to Twitter and follow me. I hope to have regular posts back here on Monday morning (but most likely not starting at 5am like I usually do!). See you then.

And a quick thank you to PJ at Somewhere in Middle America for featuring Simple+Pretty in her “How We Blog” series.
