Traffic book

We spent a lot of our driving vacation dealing with traffic. When I’m back to reading books (which should be in September – August is devoted to magazines) I’m planning to read Traffic, by Tom Vanderbilt. The excerpt about merging is fascinating. I am one of the early mergers who coldly stares down the speed down the shoulder and merge at the last possible second drivers. And then lets them in.

Read more about Traffic at the book’s site, How We Drive.

While scrolling through letterpress photos at Flickr, I found another delightful letterpress artist to share with you all. Wendy at Dozi Design has some lovely paper options. I love their stylish simplicity. You can visit Wendy’s etsy shop here, and her blog here. (Did I mention that she is the owner of the cutest Boston terrier?)

As a coffee lover, affogato is one of my favorite desserts. Granted, that list is long, and ever growing. Check out these yummy options, all courtesy of New York magazine.

Tag Sale Giveaway, week one

ballard designs fleur de lis pushpins | simple pretty

As I continue to clear out the house, I’m coming across things that I loved and needed, but no longer have a use for. And thus I am introducing the Tag Sale Giveaways. The featured products are not new, but in lovely condition, and hopefully, as the price is right, they’ll find new homes.

The first giveaway is a set of 24 fleur de lis pushpins from Ballard Designs. Mostly brand new (6 have seen pushpin duty) they can be yours simply for leaving a comment below.

The rules:

  1. Leave a comment (one per person and no anonymous) at this post before 11:59 pm cdt Tuesday August 12.
  2. I will draw one winner and post the results in Thursday’s blog entry.
  3. The winner is responsible for contacting me with his/her mailing address before Monday, August 15 at 8:00 am cdt.
  4. US only due to shipping costs. (I will research this before the next giveaway in hopes of extending it to international.)

Good luck!
