Cannot say enough good things about Sweeteeth’s “Sea is for Caramel” bar. Gorgeous wrapping, and made with delicious dark chocolate, sweet caramel, and sea salt. I need to restock. Right now, the chocolates are available at various Charleston, SC shops and restaurants, but online ordering is coming soon!

One of the highlights of my recent trip to Charleston was visiting Stitch, a charming graphic design studio with a new office space on Cannon Street. Actually, Stitch and Sideshow Press (their letterpress stationery line) share the space. Stitch is comprised of designers Courtney Gunter and Amy Pastre; Sideshow adds Virginia Gregg who runs the press production.) I’ve “talked” to Courtney and Amy many times via email/twitter/etc but it was great to finally put faces with the names and have a look at their new home. (And let’s face it, get to hold some of their gorgeous work in my hands.) I was blown away by the lovely cards and stationery they recently designed for Tara Guerard/Soiree. The back of the card pictured above is flocked and it’s so fabulously luxe. (You can read more about their design process for Tara here.) They’ve also recently finished updating Charleston restaurant FIG’s identity. Pictured above is FIG’s new letterpressed comment card, which is a thoughtful detail. I could have stayed and talked to Team Stitch all day … but they work, too, so I enjoyed my coconut cupcake (from Sugar!) and made plans to visit again soon. Thanks, Courtney, Amy, and Virginia for a lovely afternoon. Glad we were finally able to connect. You can see more pictures from my visit, including Courtney and Amy’s inspiration boards, at Flickr.

So glad it’s Friday. Warmer weather is supposed to return today, and just in time, as my buddy has three (count ’em, three) soccer games this weekend. Guess what I’ll be doing?
On with the Five:

- Tami & The Dandelion Greens

I was inspired to sketch the ramps pictured at top after seeing this photo in New York magazine. I am so ready for the freshness replete with possibility that spring represents. Have a wonderful weekend. See you Monday ….

Charming, isn’t it? Tereasa Surratt’s new book, out this week, chronicles her process of relocating + restoring a small cottage on a budget of $300. It turned out pretty great: check out the accompanying website for more info, including video.
Update: I’ve now had a chance to read Tereasa’s book. It’s super charming and soooo inspiring! Full of photos, how-to’s, as well as the history of her little cottage. I’m also pleased to report that the $300 budget was for the furnishing of the cabin, not the entire refurbishment. It’s left me feeling that I could in fact handle some sort of home renovation project myself someday. (As luck would have it, the cottage’s location is pretty close to my in-laws summer home. May have to do a drive by ….)

Not only does 10/11-year-old Jeanne have a wardrobe to die for (you know the saying: more style in her pinkie finger ….) but now you can buy a paper doll set, created by Maria Chavez Larkin, in Jeanne’s likeness, featuring her wardrobe. This kid is seriously cool. I stand in awe.
